I been gone a while so I decedied to give a quick summary of Detroit sports:

Pistons: Damn it, one n half quarters away.

Lions: Well, ummmm, atleast it seems we're in the worst division in the history of the NFL. 7-9 Division Champs, here we come!

Tigers: They give you the slightest bit of hope by going one game under .500 in late August, just to dash all your dreams and go near 20 games below .500 by late September.

Pistons: After blowing a huge 1st quarter lead the Pistons lost and the series with Indiana is now tied 1-1.

Tigers: The Tigers have are .485 with a 16-17 record. 10 of their losses have been by 1 run. They've won 5 by 1 run.

Wow what a win. Unfortunately I missed a lot of it. I was working from 11am-430pm, while the game was on like 1-4. I ended up taking a break and catching the end of the second quarter, and went back to work happy to see the Pistons winning. I went back to the dishroom, and kept unloading junk. As I saw the game winding down I started rushing out to check the score every chance I could get. I remember being pissed through alot of it cause the Pistons were losing. During the final minute I would watch a play, go back and unload some stuff to keep the machine moving then run back to the tv (that's what most of the employees in the cafeteria were doing). When Chauncy hit that huge 3 to put the Pistons up by one with 20 seconds left there was a huge scream for all the workers who were crowded around the televisions. There was another one just as loud when that Sixer missed that free throw. After I went back to the dishroom for a short while, came back and saw there was 1 minute left. I mostly stayed and watched with maybe two trips back to keep the machine running. Rip hits a great shot to put the Pistons up by three. Sixers take one of the worst 3 pointers ever with 6 seconds left. Game over. Pistons lead the series 3-1. I wish I could have seen more, but o well.

I know it took me a while to post this, I'm lazy.

In other news, the Tigers lost the series to the White Sox, but just beat the other Sox to get back to .500. 12-12.

Mixed Day

Pistons:
Ben Wallace scored 29 and had 16 rebounds, but that wasn't enough for the Pistons who lost to the Sixers 115-104. The Pistons lead the series 2-1. Next Game is Sunday at 1.

Tigers:
On the last day of April, the Tigers are above .500. The Tigers are 11-10 after finally beating the division leading Chigago White Sox 3-2 in 11 innings. The Tigers are now 4 games behind the White Sox, and 2.5 games behind the Twins who are second in the Central division, and currently hold the AL wild card spot. Though that's with the Red Sox at 11-11 and the Yankees at 10-14.

The Tigers are undefeated! Tigers beat Minnesota twice and Clevland once! Oh, and the snow canceled two games. Oh, and the rain cancled one game. Still Tigers haven't lost a game since last Thursday!

Live Pistons Blogging - Game 1 - Sixers

I got off of work late because we were playing ice basketball in the kitchen. I got here and checked the score and it didn't look good, Pistons down by double digits. I've been watching the game as I typed the previous post and they've cut down the deficit to 4 currently. I'll try posting some scores and thoughts as the game goes on.

3:58 - Pistons 32 - Sixers 36 - 6:07 left in the 2nd quarter.

4:00 - Pistons 37 - Sixers 36 - 4:55 left in the 2nd quarter. Prince just hit a 3 to give Pistons their first lead of the game.

4:13 - Pistons 48 - Sixers 42 - 45 seconds left in the 1st half. Pistons have scored 10 straight points.

4:18 - Pistons 48 - Sixers 46 - Halftime. Hunter's played 2 minutes, Arroyo's played 5, McDyess' played 9. The starters have played the rest. McDyess is playing great, he's made 6 of 7 shots (not free throws) and scored 13. Prince has scored 11.

4:51 - Pistons 72 - Sixers 61 - 3:27 left in the 3rd quarter. And that's despite the officials giving the Sixers 4 points with a shot by Webber off the shot clock, and calling Prince's amazing clean block on Iverson's lay up goaltending.

5:01 - Pistons 80 - Sixers 70 - End of 3rd Quarter.

5:18 - Pistons 94 - Sixers 79 - 5:55 left in the game. Haha. Back to Back thress by Sheed.

5:29 - Pistons 100 - Sixers 83 - 2:55 left in the game. While I was typing this they just scored 4 more, Pistons are up by 21, it's long over.

5:32 - Pistons 104 - Sixers 83 - 1:25 left in the game. Darko is in!!!

5:34 - Pistons 106 - Sixers 85 - That's game. Darko missed one shot for about 2 feet inside the 3 point line, and got one defensive rebound. Sheed scored 29. Prince scored 23. Hamilton scored 17. McDyess scored 15 (in only 20 minutes). Ben had 7 blocks.

The Good - Tigers finally beat the Twins in 10 innings. The Pistons ended with a tie for their 3rd best season ever (tied with last year)

The Bad - Tigers Lost both games to the White Sox. The Pistons lost their final game ending their winning streak and their chance beat last years record.

The Medium - Pacers won their final game by 2, so Pistons are playing the Sixers in the first round. Lions drafted another reciver, Mike Williams from USC. Hopefully though that'll mean Harrington (or Garcia) will always have a capable reciver on the field. Michigan's Edwards went 3rd to the Browns, I really think Edwards is being overated. My memories of him are of him making great jump ball catches in the clutch. Though dropping balls that hit him in the numbers in the clutch. Put him one on one with a cornerback in the endzone and he's great. Want him to catch a short pass and turn up field and he's terrible. O well, we'll see.

The Weird - The Tigers game against the Twins today was postponed due to snow.

Darko!

Darko started for the first time ever in his NBA career against the 13-68 Atlanta Falcons. He played 30 minutes, the only person who played more tonight was Carlos Delfino. The Pistons won their 11th game in a row very easily and have just tied last year's number of wins, 54. One game left against the Bobcats.

I decided to take a screen shot and post the box score to commemorate Darko's first start.

The Tigers are 6-8 and just tied the Orioles a game a piece in their 2 game series. Next up is a 2 game series against the 9-4 division leading White Sox. Followed by a 3 game series against the 2nd place Twins. Followed by a 3 game series against the 3rd place Indians.

Tigers finally ended their losing streak today, beating the Royals 7-1. They are currently 4-7, tied with the Indians and Royals. The White Sox and Minnesota are both 8-3. Though for some more uplifting news, check out these batting averages for our first four batters in today's lineup.

I needed a place to talk about sports, and here it is. I don't know how often this site will be updated, we'll find out in the coming weeks and months. This is going to be a blog about Detroit sports and Michigan sports. Mostly Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Pistons.
